Anyways, I'm done repeating myself and wasting my time with the usual contrarian Möbius strip nonsense you play in every thread any time someone logically questions even most minuscule thing Nintendo has done. That sprite fits in with its game perfectly just as the SMW Mario sprite does even though Mario looks very different in SMW compared to other games in the series, it's just an art difference. Despite this, it's good they didn't modify his appearance to be angrier and have hair because that sprite is an indelible part of SMB 1's history and in that same sense, maybe Bowser's SMW sprite isn't perfect but that doesn't matter because it's part of SMW's history not to mention it's far more canon in appearance than the SMB 1 sprite and matches SMW's art style.Īs for the rest of your post, again, you're 100% wrong when you say it wouldn't make sense or be feasible to have created a SMW canon based Bowser within the SMW tile set based on the existing sprite because the game's other custom sprites say that you're wrong. That's like someone saying Bowser's sprite in SMB 1 is "the best they could have done" when in retrospect it's one of the most goofiest sprites in the series and obviously didn't even match Bowser's own official art assets. I'm not saying that the sprite they actually made for SMW was well done or the best they could have done./QUOTE] Just look at Bowser Jr and Bowser side by side. It's clearly in a different art style from the other sprites in the game, even if it matches the colors, unlike the SMW Mario Maker Bowser sprite. It doesn't matter if it was in the original SMW, it's clearly a sprite that would look pretty out of place outside of its original context.Īlso, I disagree about Bowser Jr SMB1 sprite fitting in too. Look at its strong outline and solid shadows. It doesn't have an out of place outline around it, unlike the SMW one, which isn't really designed like the other sprites in SMW. In spite of being used only in dark backgrounds, its style still matches the rest of the game. You mention the Bowser SMB1 sprite, and it actually just strengthens my argument. What I'm saying is that the one you want would be bad too. Look at your own picture for a bit and think about what you've posted. There's nothing like that in my post, so I don't see why you're throwing a big rant against that idea. I'm not saying that the sprite they actually made for SMW was well done or the best they could have done. ![]() To conclude, this is a very great game with good music and very pretty levels.Nah. The problem is that the shells spouted appear to be quite random, as sometimes he doesn't give one, and sometimes he gives 3 in a raw and right in the beginning of the fight, which lets you kill him in a few seconds. ![]() Did I miss something of the 82nd is the last level with Bowser ? To this point, and to answer to Paddy, to kill the last boss you have to use green shells to push Bowser into lava. However, I was able to find only 81 exits (without using savestates). I particularly loved the glass-like castle #6. You paid attention to all details, in the overworld and in levels too. I like all in this hack : the overworld, which is one of the best I've ever seen with this pretty DKC-inspired island. 2/5įirstly I commented here because I thought the game doesn't offer the ability to save, but I found out that it auto-saves so that's great ! Do you do this with all of your games ? Levels not that special, minus points for bosses and secret exits. Great use of vanilla graphics though, if only the level design got the same amount of love. The visuals are the main focus in this hack and sadly that is basically all it got. Doesn't help that the odds of actually getting a shell are so absurdly low he usually just walks all the way to the left cornering and killing you. Being near the lava pit doesn't end the level either. Bowser waited in his castle at the end of Dark Land. The Koopa Kidss sprites also appeared to resemble their respective official character art. I've knocked him into the lava three times and it just doesn't do anything, he just respawns. The Bowser sprite for Super Mario Brothers 3 appeared much more detailed than the previous one in Super Mario Bros. Also one of them can just walk off the level killing itself without actually ending the level.Īnd Bowser isn't actually beatable I'm pretty sure. The custom bosses are pretty awful to be honest, they're more annoying than anything because they do stuff randomly which often means spawning something that kills you exactly when you jump on them. The secret exits are not very well-hidden nor do they actually offer anything besides finding a specific pipe to enter most of the time. ![]() Most levels are pretty straight-forward and very simple in design, nothing particularily interesting.
